Interesting aspects of nuclear power

One of the most interesting things I learned in researching for this topic is that the potency of a nuclear bomb is based on how refined the material is, and is exponentially more powerful with more refinement. To such an extent that to maintain a nuclear reaction you would theoretically need an infinite amount of mass of refined uranium at 5.4%. Thats more than almost any reactor refines their uranium to, which means that even if it did explode, it would have no where near the chance to be as destructive as a bomb. july 24th blog post
